Two Swedes Killed in Belgium
Two Swedish citizens were shot to death in Belgium's capital Brussels in the middle of October. Belgian police confirmed this to the news agency Reuters.
At around 7:15 pm on October 16th, the suspected perpetrator opened fire with a gun on several people in a square in central Brussels. After the attack the man fled the scene and have not been found yet. Two Swedish men, wearing the Swedish national team shirts, was killed and one more got injured from the incident.
The suspect launched the attack approximately one and a half hours before the UEFA European Champtionship qualifying match between Sweden and Belgium was to be played. The stadium was located about five kilometers from the square where the incident occurred.
During the incident, the man recorded himself, and later, the video clip was shared on social media. Afterwards, the man is said to have created another video that he then distributed on the social media platform X.
In the later video, the man claims to be a part of the terrorist organization ISIS. The suspect was in prison in Tunisia but escaped and went to Brussels.
"I got revenge for the Muslims and killed Swedes," he says in the video.
