Lack of Security for Lyko's Opening in Stockholm
Hundreds of young people queued all night to get a goodie bag at the opening of the beauty story Lyko in Stockholm, Sweden. However, several of those who waited the longest had to go home empty-handed. The company then promised a solution for those unlucky ones who reached out. But now they have reversed their decision - no more goodie bags will be distributed.
I know how exciting it is to receive a bunch of free things, especially when those things typically are a bit expensive. But I would never decide to stay in a queue for as long as some of the people did in Stockholm.
Lyko promised that the first 500 customers would get a free goodie bag and this created chaos. I think that the store should have done a better job with their security and the organization of the queue. Multiple people started queuing long before the store opened up and the security should have been out there since the start. I think it was easy to know that something like this would happen and they should have done a better job planning out the security for the line and how the queue should have been built up.
Throughout the night before and during the morning before the opening, there were multiple fights and many of those who came there first did not get the goodie bag they should have had. People would skip the line, fight to get closer to the front, and even bite the other people waiting just to secure the goodie bag.
I do not think it should go that far that people get injured just to be able to get a goodie bag.
