Man found being shot in Helsingborg
On the evening of October 5th, a 35-year-old man was found shot at Gustav Adolf Square in Helsingborg, Sweden. The police were called in and later that evening one person was arrested. This is the third shooting during the time of one week in Helsingborg.
"We are focusing on hearing the man who got injured but also possible witnesses. It was a few people out on the square as it happened" says the police Patric Fors.
The gunshot-injured 35-year-old is still being treated in the hospital but is not seriously injured.
The day before, several shots were fired, also in the same area, but both the target and the shooter are unknown. However, the police have been able to observe parts of the incident through security cameras and have heard from several witnesses about the incident. It is too early to say whether the two shootings are related.
"It is geographically in the same location, and it is one of the aspects that we are considering in the investigation," the police says.
During an interview with the chief of police, he claims the man who was arrested is now free and is no longer suspected in the investigation.
